The Fellah Hotel is an exceptional place that is open to the world and celebrates diversity. While its top-of-the-line services and amenities have earned it classification as one of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World™, the Fellah Hotel is also a responsible investor that follows fair economic practices, and engages with its community.
The Fellah Hotel features ten villas, 850 square metres each, spread across 14 acres, offering a total of 69 guest rooms, each decorated in a different minimalist style. The thoughtfully designed interiors echo the landscaped gardens outside, and together break away from the typical “Middle Eastern Fantasy” to reflect the true rural heritage of Morocco. The Fellah Hotel is intended as a singular experience of otherness, and its design is a manifesto against a worn-out model. It actively encourages the discovery of true contemporary Moroccan culture. Most of the hotel staff are local people, trained on site.
By design, the Fellah Hotel brings three allied establishments together: the Wat Po Thai School of Traditional Massage; the Fellah Hotel Restaurant that blends state-of-the-art culinary techniques and uses fresh local produce; and Dar al-Ma’mûn, an international cultural centre.
Dar al-Ma’mûn, a non-profit venture, offers a multilingual library, a research centre in literary translation, artist residencies, and numerous educational activities – not as commercial ventures, but purely for research in each area represented. Dar al-Ma’mûn is also the only cultural centre in North Africa and the Middle East to be recognized by UNESCO. The Fellah Hotel serves as Dar al-Ma’mûn’s patron and sponsor: putting its facilities at the disposition of the Centre (while the Centre awaits the completion of a building dedicated to its own activities), and devoting part of its income to the Dar al-Ma’mûn.
Fellah Hotel guests enjoy a unique, top-of-the-line hotel, and their mere presence at the hotel supports contemporary culture. Hotel guests may, if they wish, contribute additional financial support. More information here!
We believe that culture is the essential means of long-lasting individual and social development. Culture and the passion for knowledge meet a primary need: a need for an acute awareness of one’s environment and how we relate to others, and for an understanding of the contemporary world in all its fullness and complexity. Our vision is based entirely on these values and all the elements of the Fellah Hotel are intended to open areas of study through the sharing of experiences and knowledge.
